**How to Use Postman for API Requests**

Now that we have Postman installed, let’s jump into making some requests. I’ll walk you through how to make **GET**, **POST**, **PUT**, and **DELETE** requests.

#### **1\. Making a GET Request**

1. In Postman, at the top-left, make sure the method is set to **GET** (it’s the default).

2. Enter a sample API URL in the request bar. For example, you can use:
    [`https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/posts`
    This](https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/posts%EF%BF%BCThis) URL will give you a list of sample blog posts.

3. Click **Send** on the right side.

4. After you click Send, look at the response section at the bottom. You’ll see some data returned from the server in JSON format.

#### **2\. Making a POST Request**

**POST** requests are used to send data to the server, often to create something new like a new user.

**Steps:**

1. In Postman, change the request method to **POST** using the dropdown at the top left.

2. In the URL bar, enter the API endpoint to send data to. For example:
    [`https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/users`](https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/users)

3. Go to the **Body** tab under the URL bar, and select **raw**.

4. In the dropdown next to **raw**, choose **JSON**.

5. Enter the data you want to send in the text box. For example

    ```json
        {
            "name": "Rodel Decio",
            "email": "rodeldecio068@gmail.com"
        }
    ```

6. Click **Send**.

7. In the **Response** section, you’ll see a confirmation that the server received the data and created a new user:

#### **3\. Making a PUT Request**

**PUT** requests are used to update an existing resource on the server, such as editing a user’s information.

**Steps:**

1. Change the method to **PUT**.

2. Enter the API endpoint where you want to update the resource. For example, to update a user with ID 1:
    [`https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/users/1`](https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/users/1)

3. Go to the **Body** tab, select **raw**, and choose **JSON** from the dropdown.

4. Enter the updated data in the text box. For example:

5. Click **Send**.

6. In the **Response** section, you’ll see the updated data sent back by the server, confirming the change.

#### **4\. Making a DELETE Request**

**DELETE** requests are used to remove a resource from the server, like deleting a user.

**Steps:**

1. Change the method to **DELETE**.

2. In the URL bar, enter the endpoint of the resource you want to delete. For example, to delete the user with ID 1:
    [`https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/users/1`](https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/users/1)

3. Click **Send**.

4. In the **Response** section, you’ll receive a confirmation that the resource was deleted.
